The Adventure Continues
After returning from my hike in the foothills, I began to drive a rather random, circuitous route to the north. This skirted along behind Salt Lake City, and brought me around to Memorial Grove behind the capitol building. Here I stopped to take some pictures. I then continued on until I merged onto Hwy 89, which took me back up to Layton.

An excellent place to conclude a day's adventures!

Hiking In The Foothills
Last Thursday evening, after getting off from work at Hill AFB, I drove down to Salt Lake and did some exploring up in the foothills behind the University of Utah. Here are a few of those pics.
The view was spectacular...
...if I didn't know better, I'd say it wasn't Utah!
The hills were covered in a dry grass
Not a bad display of colors!
I just thought the tree was pretty with the mountains behind...
My ride awaits to carry me to further adventure...
Home Again!
We'll I'm back home again. I took three photo excursions during my hiatus and came away with close to 800 pictures. Not to worry though, I won't post all of them here! ;)

Serving Our Country
Well, I'll be away from the computer for a few days while I do some "time" down at Hill AFB. I'll be back on Sunday evening. Have a good next few days!
The Linder Boys
One of the many highlights of the time around John and Trista's wedding was traveling from Logan, UT (aka "home") up to Seattle in my '98 New Beetle with my Dad. We got a fairly early start and just had a ball the entire time. We sang along to some music I had with, chatted about the latest goings-on, and had good theological discussions. We also had a blast taking pictures of scenery and each other. Here are three from that trip.

Nake!
One of the great things that happened at John and Trista's wedding was the number of folks who showed up who I hadn't seen in quite some time. Here are Grant and Owen. In the first picture, Owen was just listening, but in the second, he was proudly showing me his toy snake which he enthusiastically introduced as "Nake."

The Bitterroot Mountains
The Bitterroot Range (a subrange of the Rocky Mountains) runs along the border of Montana and Idaho in the northwestern United States. To the north is Lolo Creek, and to the south is the Salmon River, a span of over 100 miles (160 km). To the east is the Bitterroot Valley and the Bitterroot River, and to the west are the Selway and Lochsa rivers. Its highest summit is Trapper Peak, at 10,157 feet (3096 m).
The range is named after the bitterroot, a small pink flower that is the state flower of Montana.
In 1805, the Corps of Discovery, led by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, crossed the Bitterroot Range, first entering the Bitterroot Valley from the south via Lost Trail Pass, and then exiting to the west via Lolo Pass. - (Wikipedia)

Song Practice
John and Trista wanted the Steven Curtiss Chapman song I Will Be Here done at their wedding. Trista's friend Rhonda was going to sing it and I was to supply the guitar background. Here we are practicing two night's before the wedding! Nothing like last minute eh?

The Field of the Redeemer
Many of you will be familiar with the concept of Boaz as a "type" of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Ruth, in chapter two, had gone to the field of the "Redeemer" to gather that which would sustain, strengthen and nourish. She went to the field to find that which was necessary for life. Let us be found often in the field of the Redeemer, gleaning from His word and growing in Him. Remember our Lord's response to temptation:
"...man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God." (Luke 4:4)

Response to Grace - (Ruth 2:10)
"The Christian found not often on his face,
Is one who has not grasped God's grace."

Bugged - Part Deux!
I am going to break away from the wedding pics for a little and get back to more random posts. These pics were taken on the way back from the wedding. I chose an alternate route which took me east on I-90 through Spokane, WA; Cour d Alene, ID; Missoula, MT and finally down through the Bitteroot Mountains. (Can you see me waving in one of the pictures?)

A "Mine of Precious Treasures"
"No other book proves such an exhaustless mine of precious treasures to those who are content to delve deep into it. It is a field for endless study and ceaseless discovery and the humblest believer may find hidden treasures never before dug up by any other" - J. Sidlow Baxter [on the book of Ruth]
