Friends

Sunday night, Feb 17, several of us from church got together at Paul and Sarah Vandenboss' apartment up on campus. We had some lasagna, salad and Italian sodas. It was a lot of fun! Three guys from the Dominican Republic (or the "DR" as they say) were there as well. Agusto and Alberto come to church regularly. They were joined at Paul and Sarah's by their friend Eric.

Catching up...

Last Friday night we had our Valentine's dinner for the church folks at a local restaurant called the Coppermill. I took one of the young ladies from the church, Kaitie Schallenberger, and we had a great time with the other ones who were able to attend. Here are a few pics from that event...

Carrie Underwood - All American Girl

I've never been a big fan of American Idol. I don't know exactly why. Yet that show has brought to light one of my favorite country singers...Carrie Underwood. This music video All American Girl is one of my favorites of hers.

Coffee Tip: TGI Friday's

I don't normally expect good coffee at restaurants (there are a few exceptions) but I just had some coffee at a TGI Friday's on Saturday night down in Riverdale, UT. It was some of the best coffee I've had outside of a coffee shop like Starbucks, Tulley's (sp?), Seattle's Best, etc. Just a heads up.

My Eee Has Arrived

This post marks a couple of firsts...it is the first time that I've posted a "tube" on YouTube, and it is the first time that I've ever seen an Eee PC!

A Seasonal Favorite

A carton of eggnog I got during the first couple weeks of January

One of the things I really enjoy at Christmas time is the appearance of eggnog on the shelves of the local grocery stores. This seasonal favorite is great "straight up" or with a slight dilution of milk. This past Christmas I was introduced to another addition to this great beverage...a few sprinkles of nutmeg on top! It was so good I now have a small container of nutmeg in my cupboard. That, by the way, is an historical thing, because the only other "spice-type" items in my cupboard are salt and pepper. So...here's to eggnog and may we meet again during Christmas '08!

Eee Update

Well, my friend Derek just purchased my HP Pavilion dv9205us, and I have ordered my Eee from J&R. I chose the Galaxy Black 4G model 701. Now comes the waiting part. It should arrive sometime next week as it is being shipped out UPS ground. I have also started a blog about my experiences with the Eee over at Eeelife.
