Rodizio Grill

This last weekend was my normal UTA with the Reserves. Saturday was family day, so after spending a couple three hours at the base, one of the guys (Kevin) and myself headed down to Salt Lake to eat at a restaurant called Rodizio Grill.

The unique thing about Rodizio is that they keep coming by the table with skewers of different types of meat. If you want some, they cut off a slice which you grab with a little set of tongs. There is a little tumbler on the table, green on one side and red on the other. As long as the green side is up, they will keep coming. Turn the tumbler over to red, and they will stop coming. Turn it back to green, and they will start bringing meat again. Lay the tumbler on its side, and they will bring your check.

I think we spent about three hours there, eating everything from sirloin, roast, marinated chicken, spicy chicken, pork, and fresh glazed pineapple. Other things I had from the salad bar included quail eggs and hearts of palm.

This place definitely rates a "10" on my scale of restaurants!

Sound's yummy!! It's fun to find new and different things to do. Maybe you should just quit the whole airforce thing, come home and open one in Ketchikan :)

Derek, you should become a "food writer" .. similar to a travel writer but about food. This is a really interesting post! Let's find out where all the others are (if it is indeed a chain) so that we can all experience it. If you go back sometime, put in a good word for Ketchikan.
